Story 4.2 is a game invented by the MilkyLove company from Paris. Program-Ace company has developed the Story 4.2 Flex application. This game is destined for love and friendly relations development.
MilkyLove company has chosen Program-Ace as a technology partner, since our company proved the best correlation of price and quality, as well as strong experience with complex web applications.
Story 4.2 Facebook application is the first social game boosting love and friendly relations. You get points if you improve your relations with your friends\beloved. Oppositely, you loose points if there is a clash between you.
In Story 4.2 you can create and share a wall with your friend or beloved. This private wall is called Story. That way you create your own Story for two persons (Story 4.2).
If you two are on good terms the wall is created promptly. However if not, it will crash. Everything is like in real life. One person can make several walls for several relationships. Every Story has its success percent (from 0 to100%). You can create your own animated avatar, choose his/her look, beautiful clothes in order to gain more and more points from your friends.
You can go shopping buying different things for credits (Story 4.2 money). The credits can be bought for real money. More active, popular and amicable persons who often change their look have chance to gain the best points. The Story 4.2 game enables players to visually demonstrate and evaluate the feelings and relationships which are not properly seen or can’t be always shown in the real life.
The website has two language versions: English and French and is permanently being enriched with new functionalities.
Goal
Our goal was to create a rich internet application (RIA) based on the flash platform. Application is connected to the application back-end, is able to get data from the back-end and to display results in attractive animated user interface. Facebook.com platform is used as a base for social networking functionality — users find connections with their friends to play the game. Facebook platform provides a separate Advanced Program Interface for connection and interaction with flash-based applications.
Challenge
The application allows to collect data about friends from the Facebook social network and to adapt this data for the application purposes. Robust combination of the Facebook and the application back-end information, as well as the user friendly interface — all this makes the application dramatically attractive for users who want to be involved in this game.
Target audience
Teenagers: girls and boys who like to spend their time in social networks playing and competing with their friends.
Conclusion
Flex technology from Adobe is the best way to leverage all advantages of Flash from Adobe today. Fast creation of UI components, possibility to customize them, handle incoming data from the network in various ways — all this became possible thanks to the Flex technology use. This innovative usage of Flex technology possibilities was successfully used in the Story42 project, which also allowed to supplement and extend the Facebook capabilities.
